This set includes Simprex 12-8812 a High quality Coaxial Knob gliding X-Y-R stage for manual measuring applications (8″x8″).  It has backplate channels and can be updated with 20 to 0.5 μm  resolution encoders and ultrasonic piezo actuators. The stage also has  precision rotation insert. Linear accuracy is laser calibrated to less  than 1 μm error in 5000; flatness and straightness better than 1 in  5000; orthogonality exceeds 1 in 10,000. Repeatability within 2 μm.  Unique hardened steel friction drive for backlash free operation  outlasts rack and pinion systems. Bearing slides made from single piece  hardened steel use cross-roller bearings for extra precision and  rigidity (other stages use split triangular wires). Basic and metrology  digital readouts available from several companies.The stage is stable  for reflective application. However it can be updated with flat  backlight LED illumination and polarization illumination.
